Two ongoing full-time opportunities, 35 hrs/week Office location – Parramatta, hybrid working supported Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $133,348 to $146,945 + super & leave loading The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) is seeking highly skilled and motivated Senior Financial Accountants to join our finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical accounting expertise in a large, complex, and purpose-driven organisation. Working within our Financial Control and Reporting team, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and effective financial controls across the Department and its portfolio entities. About the role As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting across the Department and its portfolio entities. You will prepare and review statutory financial statements, Treasury reporting, financial consolidations, and key reporting work papers, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Treasury mandates, and legislative requirements. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing statutory annual financial statements and supporting work papers, coordinating monthly reporting to Treasury, facilitating early-close and year-end reporting processes, You will also work closely with business units, portfolio entities, NSW Treasury and the Audit Office of NSW, providing technical accounting advice on complex transactions and supporting compliance with reporting obligations. A key focus of the role is maintaining and enhancing financial governance and controls.
