Duties: Serves as a DAI Time and Labor timekeeping accountant responsible for performing high level analysis and solving complex financial and accounting timekeeping situations/problems. Assesses the integration of multiple systems and develops recommendations involving substantive impact on policies, procedures, systems, and operations of site organizations and the agency. Assists in conducting meetings, seminars, training sessions, and workshops for training purposes in response to mission needs. Monitors and leads projects across DFAS; ensures effective and timely accomplishment of such projects. Conducts operational reviews for all assigned financial management to ensure accuracy of data, detect inconsistencies in processing and management reports, and improve internal controls. Performs reviews and communicate results of financial systems with enterprise-wide application requiring a high degree of analytical and evaluative skills, as well as originality and advisory abilities. Qualifications: This position has a positive education requirement. To qualify for this position you must meet one of the basic requirements described below: (1) Completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
