Position may be filled at any of the below locations: Fort Belvoir, VA: $143,913 - $187,093 Whitehall, OH: $131,245 - $170,624 Duties: As an Accountant you will be responsible for the following duties: Serves as a senior operating accountant, and subject matter expert regarding agency operating accounting and financial analysis. Provides highly complex management advisory and technical services on the most important and substantive operating accounting functions. Identifies and resolves accounting issues by applying advanced data science, artificial intelligence (AI), and automation techniques to traditional accounting functions. Resolves complex operational and systems problems by defining objectives, interpreting policy, and developing the agency's official position. Revises, designs, and adapts complex accounting systems, including creating innovative interfaces and performing continuous analysis to improve financial policies and procedures. Provides accounting advice, guidance and assistance to finance and accounting offices within DLA J-8 on matters pertaining to agency accounting and financial management systems. Qualifications: To qualify for an Accountant your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Basic Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their college transcripts from an accredited educational institution which reflects that an accounting or equivalent degree was conferred and the date conferred. Failure to submit your transcripts may result in lost consideration. OR A combination of education and experience - at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
