The Role: The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the convention center. The position performs general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, and event-related accounting and settlements. The Staff Accountant also supports budgeting and forecasting, maintains accurate financial records, assists with internal controls and compliance, and provides documentation and support for internal and external audits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare, review, and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments. Perform and review bank, balance sheet, general ledger, and other account reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved timely. Support and participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including accruals, account analysis, and financial statement preparation. Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure transactions are properly recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting principles.
