Company: Job title: Tax Director | Non-profit Location: United States #LI-CL1 #LI-Hybrid Essential Functions and Primary Duties Lead tax compliance and consulting engagements for a diverse portfolio of nonprofit and educational organizations, including public charities, private foundations, educational and health & human services organizations Review and oversee preparation of complex nonprofit tax filings, including Forms 990, 990-1, 990-PF, state charitable registrations and related informational returns. Serve as a trusted advisor to nonprofit clients on tax-exempt compliance matters, including UBIT, executive compensation, intermediate sanctions, charitable contribution rules and private foundation regulations Partner with audit, advisory and consulting teams to deliver integrated solutions and identify opportunities to expand client relationships across broader firm service lines. Help lead & grow the Exempt Organizations tax practice Work with other nonprofit tax professionals in the firm to further Industry goals Present tax filings, key tax matters, and compliance considerations to Audit Committees, provide technical guidance on nonprofit tax matters, including exempt status maintenance, structuring considerations, unrelated business activities, and emerging regulatory developments. Develop and mentor tax professionals, fostering technical excellence, accountability, and strong client service within the nonprofit tax practice. Build and maintain strong client relationships with CEOs, CFOs, controllers, audit committees, and board leadership in the nonprofit sector.
