Additional vacancies may be filled from this announcement. Duties: Prepares analysis of Agency Quarterly, Monthly Financial Statements/Reports, accounting, budgetary, and Notes. Prepares analysis of Management Assertion Packages to support financial audit readiness. Provides expert advice in specialized areas of accounting, resolving problems, and developing policies. Reviews legislation and regulations; developing regulations and guidelines for program users by utilizing DoD, Departmental regulations, administrative manuals, OMB Circulars and bulletins, Treasury regulations and GAO principles and standards. Provides advice to financial and program managers and other accountants on unusual and difficult accounting issues and/or operations problems. Reviews accounting data for soundness of overall approach, and effectiveness in meeting requirements or expected results. Qualifications: To qualify for an Accountant (Staff) position, your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Basic Requirement: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. Combination of education and experience - at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
