Employer: Defense Finance and Accounting Service (Department of Defense), posting on USAJOBS, the US government's official hiring site Job title: FINANCIAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST Location: Multiple Locations Salary: $106437 to $144481 Per Year Open from 2026-10-02 to 2026-10-19 Who may apply: Grade: 13 Remote: no; telework eligible: no Summary: Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the Department of Defense (DoD) in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information. Duties: Serve as a senior specialist providing expert financial management and systems, advisory and consultative services with regards to the development and integration of new computer technology. Identifies, coordinates, and resolves controversial or key issues and problems related to financial systems design and modification. Develops innovative system software change requests and functional specifications to implement modifications and enhancements. Establishes project governance frameworks, conducts risk assessments, and ensures all financial software architectures adhere to statutory regulations, audit guidelines, and cybersecurity standards. Responsible for planning, testing, revising, implementing, and maintaining an entire system or major portions of a complex financial system. Qualifications: This position is being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense via delegated authority by the Office of the Secretary of Defense.
