Employer: Food Safety and Inspection Service (Department of Agriculture), posting on USAJOBS, the US government's official hiring site Job title: Lead Auditor Location: Urbandale, Iowa Salary: $126797 to $164841 Per Year Open from 2026-10-09 to 2026-10-16 Who may apply: Grade: 14 Remote: no; telework eligible: yes Summary: This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), conducts a program of financial activities applicable to State agencies that receive FSIS funds for the Cooperative Inspection Programs. Duties: Conduct and oversee onsite and virtual financial and compliance reviews of State agency operations, financial systems, and practices. Provide assistance and guidance to State agencies on financial policies, procedures, and requirements under Cooperative Inspection Programs. Monitor team and individual progress, review completed work, adjust priorities, and ensure timely completion of assignments. Perform oversight desk reviews for Federal financial assistance, such as reviews of final financial reports. Serve as a team leader, functioning as a coach, facilitator, and negotiator to coordinate team activities, consensus building, and task distribution. Formulate and recommend financial review policies and programs in collaboration OCFO leadership. Provide training, guidance, and technical assistance to team members on administrative, analytical, and technical tasks. Monitor team and individual progress, review completed work, adjust priorities, and ensure timely completion of assignments.
