The Supervisor – Government will manage the preparation of financial statements and related documentation for government entities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and accuracy. This role involves overseeing preparation processes, applying accounting principles, and supervising a team of preparers. Job Duties Control Environment Apply a thorough understanding of internal control frameworks to ensure the effectiveness of financial preparation processes Assess and validate internal controls over financial reporting to identify areas for improvement Communicate suggestions for improving client internal controls and accounting procedures to management, helping to enhance the overall control environment Supervise the preparation team, ensuring accurate execution of tasks and adherence to internal controls. Provide guidance and delegate responsibilities as needed Offer training and mentorship to team members to improve their understanding of internal controls and financial preparation procedures Governmental GAAP Apply knowledge and understanding of governing principles; applying these principles to client transactions; and documenting and communicating an understanding and application of these principles Identify and consult with clients on the impact of new accounting pronouncements Monitor and communicate important professional, industry pronouncements Present and discuss alternative generally accepted accounting principles and arguments for/against such alternatives Identify complex accounting issues and forms and documents resolution, seek counsel of Rea technical experts as needed GAAS/GAGAS/UG Apply knowledge and understanding of professional standards; application of the principles contained in professional standards; and the ability to document and communicate an...
