Employer: Naval Air Systems Command (Department of the Navy), posting on USAJOBS, the US government's official hiring site Job title: ACCOUNTANT Location: Naval Air Station San Diego, California Salary: $102246 to $132923 Per Year Open from 2026-10-06 to 2026-10-13 Who may apply: Grade: 12 Remote: no; telework eligible: yes Summary: You will serve as an ACCOUNTANT in the COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT, COMPTROLLER DIVISION of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Duties: You will serve as the senior level accountant performing the most complex analysis requirements related to the United States Standard General Ledger Accounts (USSGL), Cost Accounting and the Navy Working Capital Fund (NWCF). You will apply knowledge of analysis/reporting requirements, work processes, accounting systems structure, and data produced to resolve significant accounting problems and/or issues. You will identify and act upon problem areas that may result in changes to existing systems to maintain the integrity of financial and accounting information. You will initiate and coordinate studies of accounting problems that typically involve complex, highly integrated accounting, costing and financial management problems. You will conduct financial reviews with program and competency managers to address and resolve financial management problems, issues and concerns. You will evaluate the USSGL account balances to assess adequacy of appropriation/fund cash flow, ensure proper application of capitalizing versus expensing criteria, and match costs to revenues. You will develop, maintain, review and correct all financial reports and statements for the command. You will attend meetings, conferences, and workshops and represent the command and make commitments as directed. Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
