GMCO is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to join our growing public accounting practice. This role is ideal for a collaborative and client-focused professional who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for developing people and delivering exceptional client service. As an Assurance Manager, you will lead and manage audit, review, and assurance engagements for clients across a variety of industries while serving as a key advisor to business owners, executives, and engagement teams. You will oversee engagement execution, provide technical guidance, manage engagement economics, and foster strong client relationships throughout the year. This role also offers the opportunity to mentor and develop emerging professionals while contributing to the continued success and growth of the firm's assurance practice. The ideal candidate brings a commitment to quality, strong leadership capabilities, and the ability to balance client needs, team development, and engagement objectives in a fast-paced public accounting environment. What you’ll be doing Lead and manage assurance engagements throughout the full engagement lifecycle ensuring appropriate stakeholder involvement, timely execution, and compliance with U.S. GAAP, GAAS, and firm methodologies. Evaluate complex accounting, auditing, and financial reporting matters , providing recommendations and guidance to clients, engagement teams and firm leadership. Manage engagement economics with financial and operational discipline by overseeing pricing, budgeting, billing, scope management, staffing, and resource allocation while meeting profitability and delivery expectations. Act as a trusted business advisor by developing and maintaining strong relationships with client executives and key stakeholders through proactive communication regarding engagement status, audit findings, accounting developments, regulatory changes, and industry best practices. Help clients identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, operational performance, internal controls, and overall business effectiveness. Collaborate with tax, advisory, outsourced accounting, and consulting teams to deliver integrated client solutions and identify opportunities to expand services.
