Position Summary: Join Sorren as a Director, State & Local Tax (SALT), where you will lead complex multistate tax engagements, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, and help grow our expanding SALT practice. You will provide strategic guidance on state and local tax planning, compliance, controversy, and consulting while mentoring team members and partnering across service lines to deliver exceptional client service. Your Impact (Essential Duties) Serve as the firm's technical leader for State & Local Tax (SALT) matters, advising clients on multistate tax planning, compliance, and controversy issues. Provide strategic consulting related to income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, property tax, credits and incentives, and nexus determinations. Lead complex SALT engagements including nexus studies, voluntary disclosure agreements (VDAs), taxability analyses, state tax audits, refund opportunities, and multistate planning projects.
